First Song I Heard This Morning. It’s gonna be a good day. Happy quasi-friday, everyone. Have a Happy 4th!
And if you are studying for the bar exam, I’m sorry. From here on out everyday feels like the worst Monday of your life, each day more horrifying than the day before. But it is totally normal and it will all be over soon. Just remember there are thousands of you who feel this way all around the country. There will be many a shots of Jameson for each of you on the other side.
What a difference a year makes…
So I’m taking my lunch break and randomly ended up going through some old pictures I had tweeted. After a moment I paused to myself and thought, “Man, I really miss law school.” My guess is that Daft Punk’s “One More Time” playing in the background is only amplifying those feelings since that song really should be considered the “Someone Like You” of Electronic Music.
This only makes me laugh because I’m pretty sure last summer I was hating all things law school, bar review, bar prep, legal education, etc. I was cursing the day I sent in my seat deposit. Haha, ok really everything about that can be attributed to the horror that is “studying for the bar exam” but still…
Law school and all things/people adjacent, I miss you.
And for all you miserable bar preppers out there… this too will pass. :)
(Does anyone else out there develop feelings like this from time to time?)

The Final 48: Delayed in Philly…
Well the bar exam is but a couple days away and I am making my trek back to Chicago. My flight out of Portland was at 7 am which meant a 5am wake up time. I didn’t mind when I thought my flight was getting me in to O’Hare at 11am…
Plan: foiled. After a delay in Portland and a quick sprint to my gate here in Philly I have come to find out my flight will not be leaving from here until 10:45am… AT THE EARLIEST. Splendid! Looks like I will be doing some practice MBE questions and trying to memorize some outlines from the always lovely Gate B10. At least I have treated myself to a breakfast sandwich and a fountain soda.
Between the heat, the self imposed ban on music, the sleeping outside, the flight delays, inter alia, simply getting to the days that are the bar exam appear to be turning into more like the Warrior Dash rather than the Chicago Marathon. It kind of makes me laugh—but I think in a nervous laughter kind of way.
